Physical Therapy Staff

David G. Burchuk, PT, ATC, founded Lighthouse Physical Therapy in 1995. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in Physical Therapy. He also earned an Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He has been practicing eighteen years, during which time he has worked in various settings including, inpatient hospital, home care, outpatient and sports medicine. Dave has also been on the USA Gymnastics medical staff. Dave has been practicing IMT for sixteen years. He lives with his wife JoAnn and their two children.

Sarah E. Troost, P.T., is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in Physical Therapy. She has been practicing for nineteen years, with experience in Aquatics Therapy, home health care, Inpatient hospital and outpatient care. She has experience in sports medicine, pre and post natal care and other women’s health issues. Sarah has been practicing IMT for thirteen of the nineteen years. Sarah interests are in functional mobility training and women’s health issues. Sarah has been with Lighthouse Physical Therapy for nine years. She lives in the seacoast with her son and enjoys running, biking and many other outdoor activities.

Matthew M. Begnoche, PT, is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in Physical Therapy. He held a private practice in Vermont where he was a member of the Vermont Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Clinical Advisory Committee. He left private practice in 2001, to join the Lighthouse Physical Therapy staff so he could concentrate on his education in Integrative Manual Therapy which has been ongoing for the last ten years. He spent a year in Boulder, Colorado, where he worked and trained with Center IMT, and is very happy to be back in Portsmouth with everyone at Lighthouse.

Mary Martin-Graff, PT, is a graduate of the University of New England with a degree in Physical Therapy. She has experience in urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, pre- and post-natal care and other women’s health issues. She also has experience in wound care, in and out of patient hospital setting and homecare. Mary has been practicing IMT ten of her fourteen years as a therapist. She enjoys living with her family in the Granite State.

Jean O. Hearn, PT, is a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in Physical Therapy. She has experience working with developmentally delayed and disabled children, in and outpatient hospital setting and home healthcare. She has been a Reiki Practitioner for eight years and for the past two years has been practicing IMT focusing on women’s health issues including pelvic pain and urinary incontinence. She looks forward to continuing her training in both of these areas. She resides in the seacoast area with her husband and three children.
Christine Berman, LPTA, is a graduate of the New Hampshire Vocational College with a degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She has been practicing for twenty-six years, during which time she has worked in various settings including, inpatient hospital, rehabilitation, outpatient and home care. Chris has been practicing IMT for four years and continues to enhance her knowledge with advanced training in IMT. Chris has been with Lighthouse Physical Therapy for three years. She lives in the seacoast area with her husband and two daughters.
Physical Therapy & Acupuncture

Susan Toth, L.AC, LPTA, has a degree as a PT Assistant and in Health Science, along with a Master’s degree in Acupuncture. She offers specialized Acupuncture for many conditions including sleep disorders, chronic illnesses and pain. Susan has been practicing as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Lighthouse Physical Therapy for three years along with operating her own Acupuncture business also located at Lighthouse PT. She has been practicing as a Physical Therapy Assistant for fifteen years and she continues to enhance her knowledge in physical therapy with advanced training in IMT. Susan lives in seacoast area with her husband and enjoys yoga, rock climbing and many other outdoor activities.
Office Management

JoAnn Burchuk, Business Manager, is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Materials and Logistics Management. She spent ten years in Chicago where most of her time was spent working as a Business Analyst for a distribution company. As Business Manager for Lighthouse Physical Therapy, JoAnn manages the financial aspects of the business along with overseeing the management of the front office.

Cheryl Klockars, Office Manager, is a graduate of Hesser College with a degree as a Medical Secretary/Transcriptionist. Cheryl has worked in the business field for over twenty-five years and brings with her the knowledge and skills she has learned throughout those years. She is responsible for scheduling patients and the daily management of the front office.
